Gold mining drives the economy of Elko, a high-desert town in northeastern Nevada strung along Interstate 80 and the Humboldt River, with the mines of the Carlin Trend to its west. The Ruby Mountains rise to the southeast, and Great Basin College is based here. Every winter Elko hosts the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, and ranch culture still colours daily life. Elko creators set their own price, as low as $4.99 or as high as $49.99 a month, while a few charge nothing at all. Paid chats, tips and personal orders are bought one by one. Card charges in dollars repeat every cycle for an Elko page until its subscriber stops renewal.
